  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Crushed red pepper flakes to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Arugula (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Slice 1-2 lemons paper-thin and remove any seeds.
  3. Mix 3 tablespoons of olive oil with 2 minced garlic cloves and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
  4. Stretch or roll the pizza dough into a 12-14 inch circle on a floured surface.
  5. Brush the dough surface with the garlic olive oil mixture, leaving a small border for the crust.
  6. Dollop small spoonfuls of ricotta cheese evenly across the pizza.
  7. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella over the surface and arrange the lemon slices on top.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Transfer the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
