Description

A hearty and comforting casserole featuring a savory ground beef filling topped with cheesy Cheddar Bay Biscuits.


Ingredients

  • 1 box Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • Fresh chopped parsley
  • 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 10.5 oz condensed cheddar soup
  • 10.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and diced onions over medium-high heat.
  3. Crumble the ground beef and cook until fully browned.
  4. Add the cheddar soup, mushroom soup, 1/2 cup milk, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Remove from heat.
  6. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  7. Pour the ground beef mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the ground beef.
  9. In a separate bowl, combine the Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix, the seasoning packet, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and 2 cups milk. Stir until no large lumps remain.
  10. Pour the biscuit batter over the ground beef mixture.
  11. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven.
  13. Combine melted butter with the seasoning packet from the biscuit mix.
  14. Brush the butter mixture over the top of the cobbler.
  15. Let the cobbler rest for 5 minutes.
  16. Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley, if desired.
  17. Serve.
