- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the bowl.
- Crack the egg into the mixture.
- Pour in soy sauce, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme.
- Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add meatballs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs in the skillet.
- Simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are glazed.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture or the sauce.
- Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
- Meatballs can be baked in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
