Description

These Honey Garlic Turkey Meatballs are a flavorful and easy-to-make dish. They are perfect as an appetizer or a main course.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the bowl.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixture.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme.
  5. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Shape the mixture into meatballs.
  7. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  8. Add meatballs to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar.
  10. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs in the skillet.
  11. Simmer for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened and the meatballs are glazed.
  12. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture or the sauce.
  • Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
  • Meatballs can be baked in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes.
