Description

French Toast Roll Ups are a fun and delicious twist on traditional French toast. They are easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick Texas toast or challah
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts off each slice of bread.
  2. Beat together softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture on each slice of bread.
  4. Roll each slice tightly like a burrito.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  7. Dip each rolled-up piece in the egg mixture to coat.
  8. Fry each coated roll seam-side down until golden brown on all sides, about two minutes per side.
  9. Serve warm with syrup or powdered sugar.
