Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ lbs salmon fillet (skin-on or skinless)
- ½ cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 Tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup salted butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
- Optional garnish: chopped green onion or parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the salmon sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before cooking.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, lemon juice, butter, salt, and pepper. Stir often and simmer for 2–3 minutes until the glaze is smooth. Avoid boiling.
- Place the salmon skin-side down in a baking dish. Brush the top with olive oil and season with a little salt and pepper.
- Pour the warm garlic lemon glaze evenly over the salmon fillets. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.
- Bake for 10–25 minutes, adjusting the time based on the thickness of your salmon fillet (allow about 10 minutes per inch of thickness).
- For a caramelized finish, you can remove the foil and broil for the last 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish your flavorful garlic lemon salmon dish with chopped green onion or parsley. Serve this moist and flaky lemon garlic salmon with rice, noodles, or roasted vegetables.
