- 2 tbsp Fish sauce or soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Lime juice
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- For Nuoc Cham Sauce:
- 2 tbsp Fish sauce
- 2 tbsp Lime juice
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 cup Water
Instructions
- Chop shrimp into small pieces and mix with fresh herbs.
- Whisk flour, fish sauce, egg, and cold water to make a smooth batter.
- Fold the shrimp and herb mixture into the batter.
- Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Mix fish sauce, lime juice, sugar, and water for the dipping sauce until sugar dissolves.
- Serve the crispy Vietnamese Style Shrimp Fritters hot with the Nuoc Cham dipping sauce.
