Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cookie Dough:
  • ½ cup Butter, softened
  • ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup Cocoa Powder
  • For Coloring the Dough:
  • Yellow, pink, and blue food coloring
  • For Decoration:
  • Chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Mix in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the mixture while mixing on low speed until a dough forms, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough in half. Blend cocoa powder into one half. Color the other half with yellow, pink, and blue food coloring.
  5. Roll each colored section into logs and combine them with the cocoa dough to create multi-colored shapes.
  6. Slice the logs into ¼ inch pieces, reshape if necessary, and space them at least 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes; edges should be set while the center remains soft.
  8. Once baked, cool on baking sheets for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Melt chocolate chips for decoration.
  10. Use melted chocolate to pipe designs onto the cooled cookies.
